Clef Records decided to do something different and decided to release a live album of Billie Holiday singing. Neither of the recordings were recent when the album was released (it was released in 1954), for two sessions are taken from 1945 and one from 1946 from Jazz at the Philharmonic. The album turned out to be a huge success.

Here, Billie is singing "Body and Soul", a song she recorded in 1940. She gives a stunning performance and her voice is at its peak.

This is the first song on Holiday's fourth album on Clef Records titled "Billie Holiday at Jazz at the Philharmonic".
