Fresh Flesh is a heavy-pop quartet from Memphis, TN. Their sound falls somewhere between proto-punk bands of the 60’s and 70’s and garage rock revivalists of the early 2000’s. Most songs clock in at less than two minutes. The result is catchy and energetic.
Vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Alicja Trout’s resume includes River City Tanlines, Lost Sounds, and Sweet Knives. Luke Stubblefield (drummer) and Noel Clark (lead guitarist) collaborated in the punk Americana group, Grave Pioneer, before enlisting Trout to form Fresh Flesh in 2015. The band has over a decade in age differences and so draws from each member different versions of their influences of punk, indie rock, and garage.
Andrew Earles of the Memphis Flyer commented: “It's an instantly memorable and perfectly unflashy formula that all four members seem comfortable presenting as if the band has far more live gigs behind it than it actually does.“
Fresh Flesh has an upcoming release on Italian garage dark-wave trash punk label Goodbye Boozy as well as Buffalo, NY’s noisy lo-fi rock n roll label Bigneck Records, the home of the early Lost Sounds release “Memphis is Dead”.
