Promo for The Stranglers 'Big In America' made at the end of 1986. Directed by Giblets (Rob MacGillivray, Mike Sumpter, Carol MacGillivray and MIchael Olley). Looking back, the animation is pretty primitive, but still can't believe I got away with that gag of the Statue of Liberty stroking the hot dog. As usual, the record company push was to try and get kids shows to broadcast the promo, they were the main outlet back then. Hence the 'friendly' Stranglers image, even though they were my punk heroes and the song is (career-wise for them) suicidally anti-American.
