TV Pow

TV Pow is a Chicago-based electroacoustic/experimental trio founded in Tokyo by [a=Michael Hartman] and [a=Brent Gutzeit] in 1995, and later joined by [a=Todd A. Carter] in the Chicago in 1996. Often cited as 'laptop trio', they really use various acoustic and electronic instruments: percussion, drums, piano, self-made instruments (like Gutzeit’s famous 20-string steel bass), synthesizers, samplers, etc. Most of their releases are remixed and edited live recordings, and throughout their career TV Pow collaborated with many sound artists from Japan, US and Europe, including [a=Boris Hauf], [a=Ernst Karel], [a=Stilluppsteypa], [a=Toshimaru Nakamura], [a=Tetuzi Akiyama], [a=Tsuguto Tsunoda], [a=Gene Coleman], [a=Thomas Deater], [a=Astro], etc.

They also have a side-project [a=Television Power Electric].
