Satoshi Tomiie


Satoshi Tomiie is a Japanese DJ and producer. He had early success in 1989 with '[m=61791]', a co-production with [a=Frankie Knuckles]. In the early 1990s, he toured with [a=Ryuichi Sakamoto], and has become known for remixes of artists including [a=U2], [a=Mariah Carey], [a=Photek], [a=Simply Red], and [a=David Bowie].

At the turn of the millennium, Satoshi introduced a new club sound via 1999’s ‘[m=86868]’ album that helped define a developing house scene. The single ‘[m=86910]’ became a worldwide underground hit.

He is now based in New York City and runs the [l=Saw Recordings] label.
