Born in 1960 in Patterson, New Jersey, U.S.
She started her career in 1988 and she found success in U.K., signed to [l=EMI]'s subsidiary [l=Cooltempo] with her debut album that included her smash cover of [a=Otis Redding]'s [url=]"Respect"[/url] and the singles [url=]"Warning!"[/url] and [url=]"Thank You"[/url] (all three singles reached No.17 in the U.K. chart!) produced by house music collective [a=Smack]. She collaborated with [a=Paul Simpson] for the hit [url=]"Musical Freedom"[/url] that sampled [a=Toney Lee]'s [url=]"Reach Up"[/url]. She duetted with [a=Monie Love] for the hip house smash [url=]"Ring My Bell"[/url] in 1990. On her second album she was produced by [a=Smack] with guest production stints by [a=Blaze] and [a=Frankie Knuckles], included in it, her cover of [url=]" It Should Have Been Me"[/url] (a hit for [a=Gladys Knight And The Pips] in 1968 and for [a=Yvonne Fair] in 1976) and in 1995 she guested on the latter's album [url=]"Welcome To The Real World"[/url]. She made a not successful comeback in 1997 with a third and last album that included her rendition of [a=Inner Life]'s "Caught Up In A One Night Love Affair". In 2000 she contributed to [a=Prince]'s tribute album [url=]"A Tribute To Prince"[/url], covering his classic "1999" and in 2004 she guested to [a=Slippery People]'s [url=]"Wish I Never Knew"[/url].
