Juliano, Tony Peinture [USA]

Award winning satirist artist Tony "Baloney" Juliano is not your normal painter. With his single panel, lush, comic like paintings dealing with quick puns, whimsical sayings, ironic sadness, and his penchant for parodying other famous artists, Tony makes art laughable in colorful complimentary painted frames. Tony is a graduate from Paier College of Art with a BFA in Illustration and has been a successful free-lance artist since 1997 to the present. Tony's resume includes commissioned murals, comics, illustrations, photography, art lessons, graphic designs, album covers, and tattoo designs. Being teased and picked on by his classmates, he developed a childish made-up nickname. He was called Agoo. That name hounded him for years, so it seemed fitting that he calls his work "AGOO ART" Tony also sells his artwork as magnets and prints at a variety of art festivals, comic cons, on-line, galleries, and stores from California to Rhode Island. Tony's art has been displayed all over the USA and the UK, such as York Square Gallery, John Slade Ely House, Stuckism International Centre, The Art Coalition, CBGBs 313 Gallery, MoCCA, DeCordova Museum, Hygienic Art Gallery, The Walker and plenty more. Tony also has a new comic book out called, Funky Garbage. A collection of comics in the style and humor of Tony's paintings. There is a limited edition of 200 coppies and they are going fast! Some of Tony's influences are William M. Gaines, Dan Clowes, Julie Doucet, Charles Burns, Chester Brown, Shag, Mark Ryden, and of course Gary Larson.
Other interests Tony has are toy collecting, comic books, art history, playing his accordion, and obsessed Godzilla fan.
Tony currently lives in Connecticut at the Agoo Art Studio with his beloved pet, Commander Hamster.
