* The recording of the follow-up to last year's widely acclaimed "Irradiant" is scheduled for November/December 2005, with a tentative release in early 2006.

* Listenable's re-release of SCARVE's first album "Translucence" has been postponed until 2006.

* SCARVE drummer Dirk Verbeuren will be touring with Swedish SOILWORK in 2005, after having recorded the drumparts for their new album "Stabbing The Drama".

SCARVE was born in 1994 in Nancy, France when Patrick Martin (rhythm guitars) and Dirk Verbeuren (drums) joined forces to create their own personal kind of extreme metal, influenced by late legends such as Death, Coroner, Cynic and Atheist. One well-received demo tape later, Sylvain Coudret (rhythm & lead guitars) joined SCARVE and took part in the recording of the self-financed ‘Six Tears Of Sorrow’ EP in 1996, a professionally sounding piece of progressive thrash/death metal.

But it was only in 1998, with the addition of two new vocalists including Guillaume Bideau (melodies & screams), that SCARVE felt they could fully express their musical ambitions. Released throughout Europe in early 2000 by Furtive Records and War Music, ‘Translucence’ saw the six-piece become a much more brutal and crushing unit, without losing their sense for intricate melodies and tormented futuristic lyrical concepts. A huge production provided by mastermind Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Darkane, In Flames) turned the band’s first album into an unstoppable sonic missile.

Listenable Records then entered the fold, releasing SCARVE’s second bomb, the highly acclaimed and ferociously blasting ‘Luminiferous’, again produced by Daniel Bergstrand. After the arrival of Pierrick Valence (screams) and Loïc Colin (bass), SCARVE played over 40 shows throughout Europe, with bands such as Behemoth, Dew-Scented, Tiamat, Pungent Stench, Aborted, No Return, Sinister, Myrkskog, Reclusion, Akercocke, Gojira, and Nile for whom the band opened on their 3-week European trek. ‘Luminiferous’ also saw a US release through WWIII Music.

In July 2003, SCARVE entered the renowned Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden to record their third long-range missile with the help of Daniel Bergstrand and Örjan Örnkloo. Not only does ‘Irradiant’ display an undeniable growth in the band’s songwriting capabilities, but it also builds a crystal-clear wall of sound that reaches lightyears beyond their past efforts. With guest appearances by Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah) and Gustaf Jorde (Defleshed), as well as stunning artwork by Dennis Sibeijn (Aborted), ‘Irradiant’ was extremely well-received worldwide. In 2004, SCARVE performed at prestigious events such as Graspop, the Fury Fest and Dour, while ‘Irradiant’ is released in Japan (Soundholic), the USA (The End) and Australia (Modern Invasion). This year, festivals such as Tuska (Finland) and Southern Discomfort (Norway) are already scheduled, so you haven’t seen the last of SCARVE yet!
