Marion Lucka was born 28. January 1963 in a flat above a stone mason`s firm near Selb, Germany. She grew up between granite blocks and tombstones, what may explain her desire to work with stone, especially sandstone, which emits more warmth than granite or marble. Marion finished secondary school, specializing in arts and afterwards began a vocational training to become a lithographer in the resident porcelain industry. After working for several years in that job she concentrated more and more on her artistic work. For her, painting is a chance to escape from reality, even if it`s just for a short time. In october 2002, her first daughter Nova was born.
