All For Nothing (SI)
Music [USA] |
check the shows page for info. Some kids from Texas have been emailing me and asking when we're comin down there, we're working on it! If anyone down there books shows or knows someone that does, email me!!! We would like to wish Sarin's Gift good luck on their journey to LA this weekend...hope everything works out for you guys! Besides Texas, if theres anyone else out there that would like us to visit their town...
All For Nothing's drive to create music they enjoy and emotionally destroy their audiences mind has never lost fuel since 1996. They don't mind being one of the longest running DIY bands on Staten Island, and they sure as FUCK don't mind being the outlaws. In the very beginning, AFN was just about writing songs because it was an accomplishment in itself. Once they got over that excitement, they got serious around 2000 and pushed themselves in a direction that they believed expressed themselves fully. If you want to compare them to Poison The Well, or Killswitch Engage, or God Below, or any band you yourself can think of that sounds like them, its not them that were the influence. They were around when these kinds of bands were just as much nobodies as AFN. OK, ok! So I bet you're asking, "So what the hell do they sound like???!". Put it to you this way, the metalcore style that they play will never tease you. Paul and Nick's unrestricted style of playing guitar as hard and complex as possible, followed by Laura's unique and distinct bass playing, along with Anthony's straight forward loud and heart pounding drumming will never leave the listener unsatisfied. Watching Anthony play live is a show in itself. Then you have Nick who also sings and plays guitar at the same time. His deep throated screams are reminiscent of Cannibal Corpse and his highs take you back to the early 90's hard-core band His Hero Is Gone. His melodic singing is intense, urgent, and eerie kind of like Tim from VOD.
A little bit of grind, a little bit of Swedish and Scandinavian black metal, straight forward violent breakdowns, and lyrics dealing with them being antiestablishment, anti-religion in politics, and their own personal opinions about life as they see it best describes what you're in for when you listen to their records.
